It was not my plan. I’m a planner; everything has a place and I am organized. I am an animal lover. I am a volunteer. I am an outdoor enthusiast. I am a foodie. I am a traveler. Most importantly, I am a helper; when a friend needs something, I’m dependable. So when a friend needed help with some office work and filing at a local real estate office, I agreed to help. A few months later, I was asked to fill a full-time front desk position. Honestly, my initial reaction was, “NO WAY!” I have a BS in Science from Plymouth State University, I’m not going to sit around answering the phone and snapping my gum all day – that was not my plan. I was later convinced to take the opportunity given to me. Little did I know my stereotype of what the job entailed was WAY off! A short time later, I was encouraged to get my real estate license. I am not a sales person; I am not pushy – I am a helper. Reluctantly, I signed up for the pre-licensing class and in three short months, I had passed my real estate exam and was officially a NH Real Estate Salesperson. That was 2004. This was not my plan!I worked with the commercial team for several years learning from some of the best agents (in my opinion) in the business. Before transitioning to residential and land sales, I realized I love helping people, even complete strangers who often become friends. I realized I am truly lucky to have fallen in love with my career. After all, it was not my plan!As a way to give back to the community, for every transaction I participate in, I make a donation to a local non-profit organization that offers Affordable Housing Education And Development (AHEAD, Inc.). I also volunteer as an instructor for AHEAD’s first time homebuyer workshop. I bring one of our dogs, Susie, to a local senior housing complex for weekly Pet Therapy sessions and I also support various Chambers of Commerce and Kiwanis clubs; attend Realtor conventions across the country; organize food pantry drives and various donations over the holidays; and I also volunteer with delivering Meals on Wheels.
