Provide social work services to children, families, and courts by assessing and analysing court applications in private family law for any child protection and serious welfare issues affecting a child or young personIndependently complete risk assessments (Section 7 reports). These include advising the court on what Child Arrangement Orders Judges and Magistrates should make such as; which parent a child or young person should live with, what time they should spend with their non-resident parent, what interventions parents may need to engage with to ensure arrangements are safe and the child or young person is not exposed to risk of harmComplete assessments on removal from the jurisdiction applications; whether a child should or should not be removed from the country by one parentUndertaking the role of a court appointed Guardian (under Rule 16.4 of the Family Procedures Rules). This involves cases where the court are concerned that a child or young person’s interests are not protected by either parentMaintaining relevant knowledge on prominent issues by engaging with regular training. Such issues include; female genital mutilation (FGM), immigration, asylum seeking, radicalisation, honour-based violence, diverse culture, religion, criminal and sexual exploitation and parental alienationWithin this role I was part of a domestic abuse development and planning group to create interactive tools to use with children and greater awareness and understanding of coercive and controlling behaviour

Main duties performed:Provide statutory care and protection and youth justice services to children, young people and their familiesInformation gathering and analysis at intake and investigation phases.
