    Brisbane, Australia
Expanding on my knowledge and experience of best practice in design and delivery methods for different audiences, topic areas and learning objectives, I began contracting as an Instructional Designer and Elearning Developer on behalf of companies such as:- Raytheon (under their Telstra contract and the NBN retraining agreement)- Stress Management Institute- Department of Education QLD- G8 Education- Queensland Health, and - the Department of Housing and Public WorksI designed and developed learning programs in areas such as:- induction- environmental awareness and compliance- 000 call centre procedures- risk management- customer journey mapping- activation and assurance- nbn construction design- stress management- coaching- contract management- recruitment and selection principals- legislation & policy- leadership- digital literacy- disaster management- complaints management- human rights, and - person-centred practiceAmongst the diverse range of learning experiences developed, I was tasked with designing and developing a best practice, train-the-trainer program for Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) Design and Delivery via Adobe Connect for Raytheon. This program was successfully rolled out to Raytheon and Telstra instructional designers and facilitators as an additional mode of delivery. This latter, specialised project provided me with a great deal of skills in teaching others to teach themselves, which has significantly added to the effectiveness of my programs as a result of the combined education and coaching method I employ within program delivery.
  • National Transport Insurance
    Technical Trainer
National Transport Insurance Apr 2012 - Jul 2015
National Transport Insurance is a niche heavy vehicle insurer. My role was to be the dedicated technical trainer for the Claims department, and my first and arguably my most significant project as part of this role was to redesign and evaluate a more effective induction training program for new claims staff. The previous program was approximately 8 weeks long and had a very steep learning curve, even for an experienced claims recruit. After conducting a critical analysis of the knowledge required to be effective and highly accurate in a claims role, the program was designed using a staggered delivery over 6 months, with scheduled on-the-job assessments and checkpoints to mark progression and measure application and comprehension of knowledge. With the success of the claims induction training program redesign (including CEO and company-wide recognition), I completed a similar redesign of related roles within the department (i.e. recoveries and settlements). In addition to the above, I designed and delivered many ad hoc training events and workshops across various mediums and to a wide variety of audiences across the national company, including directors and senior management, truck repairers, truck dealership representatives, business development managers and underwriters. I was also employed during NTI's integration of Agile methodology for project management.
  • Relationships Australia
    Training And Development Officer
    Relationships Australia Dec 2011 - Mar 2012
Due to company restructures, my previous role as a dedicated ICT trainer was broadened and moved into the organisation's larger training department.I was first introduced to e-learning design and development methodologies and software in this role, and, combined with my undergraduate degree in Psychology, was tasked with RAQ's first compliance and 'soft skill' e-learning development programs.I designed, produced and evaluated e-learning for areas such as contact centre customer service skills, mental health first aid, handling difficult clients, handling suicide callers, risk assessment and duty of care, and managing vicarious trauma.I learned a great deal about how to effectively design and deliver training in psychological-based concepts, which has assisted me greatly in the work I do today.
  • Relationships Australia
    Ict Training And Development Officer
    Relationships Australia Nov 2010 - Dec 2011
After showing a natural aptitude for all things IT, and identifying a distinct need within Relationships Australia QLD for a trainer dedicated to teaching others about IT hardware and software, I went on to complete my Cert IV in Training and Assessment and become RAQ's first dedicated ICT trainer.I designed and facilitated numerous ICT-specific training packages, including large-scale software rollouts to practitioners for virtual delivery of counselling and mediation services - some of which had to be delivered remotely via the software itself!I learned great skills in impromptu facilitation and technologically-enhanced training delivery that still serve me well today.
