I have 16 years of work experience – the first 11 in the manufacturing industry in various technical positions and the last 5 years in the technical training space in management roles. Essentially, the first half of my career honed my technical skillsets while the second half of my career filled the gaps with management and soft skills.I have a Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics and regardless of my changing roles and titles, I’m always an engineer at heart - curious and always ready to throw out another suggestion to the current problem or constraint. I am persistent, highly responsible and always dependable.I like to describe life as an uphill journey while wearing skates - we start sliding down if we’re not actively trying - with the end goal being that we’re better human beings from when we started. As such, I enjoy learning and as fiercely as I defend my opinions and facts, I’m also happy to concede when I can be convinced otherwise. As a leader, I subscribe to the flipped org chart concept - the bigger the job title, the heavier the burden of supporting the people who report to us. It is our job to make sure they can succeed in their tasks. Take away the truly show-stopping obstacles, but leave the rest for them to navigate and aide their growth.I like to think that I am a linguist – I have an affinity with languages both the programming-kind and the human-kind. I love learning new things and believe that we can learn anything at any time in any situation or mode.
