About Nikki Griffiths

Highly motivated, dedicated individual that is eager to master the tasks at hand; in addition to learning new tasks. I have excellent communication skills with the ability to speak to large crowds, small groups, or diffuse situations that may arise. I am well versed in the civilian/administrative role within a municipal law enforcement agency having served in several different positions within the Summit Police Department.Currently an aspiring wildlife biologist. I possess a strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Programs, R and a basic knowledge of GIS. I understand the importance of maintaining up to date, detailed and thorough records. My education involving higher level biological, ecological and fisheries and wildlife courses with Oregon State University has truly given me a solid understanding of field sampling projects, and the amount of time, effort and energy that is involved in these studies. I have been interning with a non-profit organization in the State of New Jersey for over a year. Working alongside a wildlife biologist has allowed me to be hands on with my involvment of the studies, along with receiving additional guidance and education pertaining to our projects. Most recently, I have assisted in vegetation surveys and water sampling collections for habitat maintenance, herbicide treatments to remove invasive vegetative species, amphibian and reptile projects involving some of the states endangered species and species of concern, and conservation efforts surrounding the critically endangered bog turtle.
