The key purpose of the role is to lead the corporate super and group insurance business operations, processes and people. Reporting to the Managing Director, I am responsible for the overall success of the business unit.Lead a team of 8 experienced Business Relationship Managers and Client Service Managers to support retention and drive the business.

This was an extremely varied and challenging role, which required balancing operational, managerial, human resources and risk management aspects of the business, alongside providing financial advice to individuals and corporate superannuation specialist skills to the business. I had 10 direct reports in the role.

To develop and execute a business plan to retain and grow the portfolio of corporate superannuation and group insurance clients.

Project manage several projects as required including the windup and transfer of the remaining Defined Benefit business to an accumulation product on a new administration platform, assist ASIC and AMP investigators compile a brief of evidence for a $1.9M fraud case and provide on the job training and oversee completion of complex annual reviews.

This was a newly created position to establish and lead a specialist client service and administration team from the ground up for large and strategically important corporate superannuation clients. Working with the Manager, Client Superannuation Services NSW, the mandate of this team was to provide exceptional client service to strategic and “A” class.

Responsible for a portfolio of employer superannuation plans and the provision of superannuation and member services including plan design, education, legislative updates and policy committee meetings.

Manage all administration aspects of a portfolio of superannuation clients, including defined benefit and master trust accumulation funds. The role also included supervision of an administration team.From the period of March 1995 to June 1995, I took over the management of this administration team and managed it through a wind down phase. Part of my role.

This was a technical role within a specialist project team established to convert all AMP corporate superannuation business to a new in house, purpose built administration platform. The role required an excellent understanding of superannuation legislation and superannuation fund benefit design.

Management of the day-to-day administration and annual review process for one of AMP’s largest and most complex Defined Benefit corporate superannuation clients, with supervision of 3 staff.
