As his assistant, I am responsible for helping David with all coordination efforts as well as planning and implementing the events we are hired to work on. Examples of things done in a day: making a brochure for an event, contacting celebrity publicists to invite celebs to our events, submitting events to all community calendars, getting donations for silent auctions, coordinating flights for celebrity guests, contact and pitch to non-profits, organizing silent auctions, and much more.

Booking agent for the Heritage Hall. I am the sole person in charge of promoting, booking, showing, maintenance, and upkeep. Answer the only business line for the hall. Delegation of Hall’s needs to independent for hire workers such as carpenters, painters, cleaners, etc. Managed the checking account for all booking deposits and rental fees.

I worked as the assistant catering manager at the Syndey Festival First Night 2012.Organized bump-in and bump-out for around 60 catering vendors. I was in charge of setting up the stalls for all caterers within my areas. This includes water and electrical preparedness. Organized back of house for caterers to accommodate and simplify waste and recycling needs.

Operated one of the main recycling stations at the Homebake Music Festival. The festival has implemented a $1 deposit per drink purchase, both aluminum and PET bottles. Event punters can return cans and/or bottles to recycling stations and receive a $1 coin in return. I managed a crew of about 8 handling returns and sorting the recycling. This an amazing program as it helps to keep event grounds extremely clean, punters enjoy getting money back (and even making money sometimes), and it helps with recycling sorting being handled immediately.

Worked as volunteer coordinator of the Green Team can pickers. I organized three groups of 20 or so volunteers to collect aluminum cands from the concert/ festival grounds. I divided the festival into sections and deployed groups. I worked very closely with the waste management company to assure correct can collection and bin availability. The three teams worked 6 hours during the day for three days. We were able to divert nearly 2 tonnes of cans from the landfill.

As the intern, I do whatever the boss needs help with. Often times I am editing sustainability policies or researching information on best practice options for events we are consulting for. I attend a lot of meetings and take lots of notes. We have done a lot of work on the ISO 20121 Sustainability Event Management Systems.

As country coordinator I spend a lot of time researching potential suppliers for the US supplier database. These must be scrutinized very intensively so as not to allow green washing. I have written several How-To guides for the website. I have developed a step-by-step program to initiate green practices at events and festivals around the world. I continue to do outreach around the US to get people to join our alliance and prepare themselves for the upcoming ISO 20121. This position requires a lot of web maintenance.
