• Independently conduct outpatient nuclear, graded exercise, and echocardiogram stress tests after personally explaining the procedure and associated risks to patient. • Review health history and medications to ensure safe and accurate course of action for each individual patient. • Assess and determine appropriate pharmacological stress test for patient.• Accurately and efficiently interpret resting and stress EKGs and relay results of same to physicians. • Provide immediate care and assistance when patient experiences problems of any kind while undergoing stress test.• Recognize life threatening arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, heart blocks, and pacemakers and diligently determine appropriate course of action. • Place holter and event monitors on patients when required and extrapolate data. • Review and interpret reports after receiving from cardiac monitoring company to ensure accurate analysis.• Report clinical abnormalities and other findings to physicians. • Solely responsible for training new exercise physiologists in all necessary areas and regularly educate and instruct college students in reading and interpreting EKGs.
