About Nikki Barton

I love to design ways that make people’s lives easier and better, and to show the difference that good product thinking brings to business goals – by building teams and product cultures that break down barriers and build trusted relationships between diverse groups of people. I consistently push the boundaries of what is possible with digital, understanding the technology but not being dictated to by its limitations. I’m confident in my knowledge, I like to get my hands dirty, and I like to learn from others. As a strategic leader who’s worked across a wide range of platforms and technologies for over 20 years, I combine an entrepreneurial streak with a strong commercial focus. I have extensive business experience from the time I founded and shaped the growth and direction of my own successful digital media agency, to VP level roles in global corporates. I love the speed and creativity that smaller agencies have – and enjoy harnessing this type of energy together with best-in-class process to get great results. I’ve achieved international recognition for my creative work in the industry: judging awards, contributing to publications, speaking at industry events, and my teams have won many awards. But the thing I enjoy most is that I’ve been able to work with amazingly creative and talented people who in many different ways challenge the world we live in.Board Member at Association of Photographers (2020 – 2022)Examiner MA/MSc Innovation Design Engineering, RCA & Imperial (2013 – 2017)Council member for The Interactive Media Skills Council, Skillset BIMA Executive Committee Member OneWorld Non-executive Director A network organisation working for sustainable development through information and communication technologies.DRUM, D&AD, UKUX, BAFTA, BIMA, Big Chip, ICAD awards judgeMultiple awards Including Red Dot, iF, D&AD, BAFTA, Disability Rights Commission, International Advertising, Museums & Heritage, Design Week and Creative Review.
