She was part of the ground-breaking vielife team (Institute of Biomedical Sports et Vie) in the late 1990s working across sleep, stress, nutrition and fitness with elite extreme athletes including F1 and Le Mans drivers, Vendee Globe sailors, and fighter pilots additional to FTSE 500 companies for business continuity and employee wellbeing. Recent work includes Chief Scientific Advisor for World Extreme Medicine / Paramount Studio co-leading Covid strategy, policy and protocol for 3 years to ensure business continuity and safety for tens of thousands of employees. She oversaw teams across 20+ Hollywood productions including Mission Impossible 7 & 8, Transformers: Rise of the Beast, and Shantaram. She is currently consulting as Special Project Lead / Subject Matter Expert for Hintsa / Abu Dhabi Government on a Health of the Nation initiative. Nikki holds MSc Extreme Medicine with Distinction, highest GPA and Dean’s Commendation from the University of Exeter Medical School and is currently collating her portfolio for PhD submission. Her undergraduate BSc (Hons) was in Sport & Exercise Science with a focus on general population adherence to public health interventions. Alongside her academics Nikki has significant experience leading projects with complex logistics and cross-border teams having operated overseas full-time for 15 years in desert, winter mountain and ocean environments. Nikki is Board Member of the International Society of Outdoor Physical Activity and Extreme Sports; Academic faculty for Exeter University Medical School; Honorary Senior Lecturer for the Public Health & Sports Sciences department; Associate Editor for BMJ Open Sports & Exercise Medicine journal, and World Extreme Medicine fellow.Nikki is also founder of ‘The Expedition Method’, an evidenced informed, experiential intervention which targets development of crucial non-technical skill sets and leadership behaviours.
