As a recent graduate of the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology, I have a strong foundation in biotechnology, pharmacology, and ELISA. I have also gained valuable hands-on experience in various laboratory settings, working as a Biomedical Technician at Bavarian Nordic, a Laboratory Assistant at Southern .IML Pathology, and a Research Assistant at Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI).In my most recent role at Bavarian Nordic, I worked with a team of scientists and technicians to perform clinical testing for novel vaccines in the company's pipeline. I performed quality control tests, maintained lab equipment, and documented results and procedures. I also contributed greatly through optimisation of testing processes to increase throughput as well as the design and integration of a new sample management system. At Southern .IML Pathology, I worked in the Microbiology department, handling various human tissue samples and biohazardous organisms. I demonstrated flexibility and adaptability, assisting across different departments, such as molecular biology and pre-analytical, to ensure continuity of service during the pandemic. At IHMRI, I undertook an undergraduate research project on new drugs for the treatment of blood cancers. I developed a high-throughput drug assay, compiled a scientific paper-style report, and presented my findings to academics and researchers. I achieved a final mark of 92 for my project. I am passionate about applying my skills and knowledge to improve human health and well-being. I would love to connect with professionals who share my passion, to explore collaboration and growth opportunities.
