Leading a national student organisation and being the spokesperson for all the upper secondary school students in Finland towards the parliament, ministers, public administration, media etc. Besides the general management of the organisation, I was especially responsible for creating strategy and leading the lobbying sector.The Union of Finnish Upper Secondary School Students, Suomen Lukiolaisten Liitto (SLL) in Finnish, is an interest, service and hobby organisation of approximately 50 000 members with a yearly budget of 1M€ founded to defend and improve the educational, financial, and social benefits and rights of the upper secondary school students in Finland. At 2008, SLL had six full-time employees (+ two Vice Presidents working full-time), four part-time employees, around 10 project workers and approximately 300 volunteers in 10 regional organisations covering every corner of Finland.For me it was a great hands-on experience at the age of 19 in management and leadership, lobbying, strategic thinking, public speaking, marketing and media relations.
