LessPlastic Bulgaria emerged as a student idea in 2017 to provide scientifically credible information on the benefits, harms, recyclability, and pollution of single-use plastics.The main mission of LessPlastic Bulgaria is to motivate people to use alternatives to single-use plastics and reduce their plastic waste.LessPlastic Bulgaria monitors plastic pollution along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, organizes clean-ups, and conducts waste monitoring. The data collected is important regionally, nationally, and internationally and plays an important role in policy decisions. To present, more than 5300 kg of waste has been cleaned and inventoried.
