The main goal I strive towards in programming is to build systems which are simple and performant, and where the programming follows patterns which you can rely on.I care about open source software, and strongly prefer to use free tools.My preferred languages are Java and C++ (only in the Qt framework), because I like Object-Oriented Programming, and these languages allow me to use structures which align very well with my thinking.I have 5 years of professional experience as a web developer, primarily with PHP. SQL has always been my weak point, because I never liked it much, but I have years of experience with it anyway. I have worked both on the frontend and backend, but I think backend is most comfortable for me. I'm currently learning golang.My future goal is to build websites which allow people to share information, and I want to make it possible to search through that information using advanced search filters, to find the very specific things you are looking for. Advanced searching is something barely any website gets right (in my opinion), so I hope I'm onto something good.On my free time, I usually listen to music, find interesting things on the Internet, and work on my hobby programming projects. Since June 2023 I've been running regularly.
