    - Successfully developed technology roadmap and production strategy for a new wind turbine power controller system, by implementing procedural approach: simulation, designing, prototyping, HALT/alpha/beta testing, concluding in certification process. - Created product design requirements for new power converter hardware, and software control algorithm with communication features used for wind turbine control, based on market analysis and industry state-of-the art- Developed prototype/product test plan: thermal, functional bench and field testing, as well as UL and IEC certification testing, with preliminary investigation for the design. The testing resulted in UL6142 certificate, and Southwest Windpower was the first small wind turbine in the industry to obtain this certification - Effectively set-up new R&D lab in new offices in Broomfield, CO, and field demonstration sites in collaboration with NWTC in Colorado, USDA in Texas, and GL Garrad Hassan in Flesnburg, Germany. - Program management of 3 parallel R&D projects: power converter design, generator design, and hybrid street lighting, by managing engineering team of 10, as well as building relationships with strategic industrial partners, vendors, Contract Manufacturers (CM), and consultants.- Implemented the design to manufacture principle – developing scalability and flexibility in new product development, so that entire complexity is shifted from hardware toward software variations.

    - Lead engineer on a project: “Innovative drive train design for wind turbines” funded by WE Energies, Wisconsin utility company, July 2009, with the objective to develop novel algorithm for sensorless control of PM generators used for wind/hydro industry. The algorithm was implemented/verified on two different platforms: 20kW IGBT full bridge rectifier, and 7kW MOSFET inverter, and verified in the field on several different turbines rated from 3 to 15kW.- Prototyping, product development and system level integration of power electronics components as a part of wind/hydro system. Several different revisions of prototype hardware based on microprocessor (ST Microelectronics and FPGA) were developed and tested successfully.- Developed and optimized different software designs using new generation FPGA circuits for power electronics control w/o position sensor, and maintain communication for system’s peripherals.
