Professional educator with over a decade of experience teaching Career and Technical Education and ELA. I currently teach at Ormond Beach Middle School, preparing students for a future in a digital workplace with web design, Microsoft Office products, and python programming. Many of my students have earned industry certifications before leaving middle school.I am very detail oriented with a penchant for facilitating robust conversation, and have written several curriculum maps for my content area. In recent years I have taken the lead in piloting CTE courses to give the students in Volusia County new opportunities to learn high-demand career skills.I am honored to have had the opportunity to serve on a panel of teachers that reviewed the 6th grade ELA Reading and Writing FSA exams on behalf of the FLDOE, and again participated in the summer 2023 Standards Setting panel for the 7th grade Writing exam. The process of creating and reviewing assessments has long been an interest of mine, and I look forward to expanding this interest professionally.
