I worked with contracting officer's representatives (CORs), contractors (KTRs), and contracting officers (KOs) to de-obligate and close inactive contracts. I also prepared unilateral and bilateral modifications for KOs. I electronically filed contract materials and recorded Contracting Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) forms. I investigated the status of active contracts. Finally, I created new task/delivery orders and sole-source purchase orders for KOs to award.

I taught three courses at the University of Colorado, Boulder (CU): Western Civilization to 1648, European History to 1600, and British History to 1660. My Faculty Course Questionnaire (FCQ) scores—CU's primary mechanism for collecting student feedback—for these three classes were 5.7, 5.8, and 6.0 out of 6.0. I designed these classes and their syllabi, myself—selecting the readings, writing the exams, and creating the assignments and in-class activities. I met regularly with students in office hours, experimented with online assignments and activities, and produced a voluminous repository of PowerPoint slides. I also served as a substitute instructor for professors who could not be in Boulder. In this capacity, I delivered lectures, presided over class discussions and other activities, and proctored (and graded) exams—sometimes for weeks at a time. I received a Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Award in my final semester.

This fellowship allowed me to read dozens of wills, land grants, and other legal and administrative documents for an entire semester. When combined with the churchwardens’ accounts I transcribed the year before, these documents proved essential for telling the respective stories of the three urban parishes I examine in my dissertation.
