For an easier commute, I accepted a Senior Developer/Architect role to further develop an ASP.NET based set of tools and portals for measuring customer satisfaction in the motor industry. The products were used Europe wide, and so had a strong multi-lingual component. Special projects included creating a translation framework for external translators to use, and facilitating the streaming media like audio call recordings, and mystery shopper videos.

I accepted a Senior Developer role to re-develop an Prototype WinForms application in ASP.NET. The first phase of this project was to stabilise and finalise the GUI version splitting it into an N-Tier design. I also spear-headed the redesign of the substantial data-import processes, developing a common framework to automate to process of importing financial data from disparate sources in varying formats. Side projects included redeveloping the Corporate public website.

I accepted a developer position in the Metals Warehousing team. After 3 months I was promoted to team leader and was responsible for turning the product and team into a highly efficient system. I championed and pioneered to migration of the ASP system to .ASP.NET and was asked to run several in-house training courses in .NET to upgrade my colleague’s skill sets. Later the Metals Warehousing Team was merged with the Metals Trading Team and I was appointed Team Leader over the new 5 person team. I have also been responsible for introducing Ajax technologies into the warehousing project and developing several reusable Ajax enable server controls.

I developed a full-blown ASP based web version of the bespoke fundraising system from scratch developing many COM based shared modules that could be used in both the Client Server product as well as the Web version. This lead to me proposing and implemented new coding standard and methodologies to shift system design from individually customised systems per client, to modular reusable code blocks that could be assembled into varying systems. I later developed an electronic document management module creating ActiveX COM plug in objects for use in all systems.I gained oversight of second line technical sales and project managed all role-outs to new hi-spec clients resulting in the development and support teams doubling in capacity to keep up with growth.I later initiated the migration to .NET technologies and the merging and the VB Client and Web Client versions into a single ASP.NET system.
