Provide strategic and timely advice to the manager Bus Operations, Manager Schedules and Timetables, Regional General Managers and other parties on scheduling planning, major scheduling/networks reviews, operations delivery of schedules services, and other projects, to achieve improved and sustainable business performance, and regulatory compliance. Support management and delivery of quality control, coaching, training, mentoring, and performance assessment and reviews systems, to achieve service delivery, high performance, learning, safety and support.

Manage the centralised and contract based Scheduling Unit and teams, including the major planning, analysis and design of bus service timetables and schedules. These include planning for service schedules, crew schedules and rosters for existing services and new routes. Undertake service reviews to ensure fleet and staff are deployed cost effectively and services are provided to meet Sydney Metropolitan Bus Service Contract (SMBSC) requirements.Manage centralised Scheduling-related activities to deliver effective day-to-day support to Depots. Ensure robust policies and procedures that achieve cost savings through more effective scheduling.

Responsibilities: • Providing effective, responsive and timely support to the Senior Service Designer Manager/Master Timetable oordinator with major scheduling/network reviews. • Gaining acceptance of changes that achieve an improved and cost effective result while maintaining reliable customer service. • Proactively conducting data gathering, analysis and evaluation and developing and formulating recommendations for service improvement. • Modelling and providing advice on alternative service scenarios to determine whether they achieve desired outcomes in service delivery and cost effectiveness. • Understanding operational requirements and prioritising conflicting demands to ensure critical deadlines are met. • Constructing schedules that are balanced, equitable and cost effective, minimising labour costs and vehicle usage. • Consulting with internal and external stakeholders, including unions and community forums

To support the Schedules Coordinator with major scheduling/network reviews, by undertaking llocated segments of reviews (including the review of routes, timetables and schedules) to achieve operational and customer service improvements.
