These include data mining, cleaning large data sets, cross-sectional study designs and appropriate statistical analyses, reporting results and writing research manuscripts. In addition to frequentist statistical methods, I am also applying various Bayesian methods for the analyses of genomic data. Since the focus of our project are the environmental and genetic effects on thyroid hormones, I am responsible for everything from testing the environmental effects on hormone levels using SPSS, SAS and R, to genome-wide association analyses using R, PLINK, VCFtools and SNPTEST in a Linux environment.
