Nikolina Pleić Email and Phone Number
I'm a Research Assistant and PhD student at the University of Split, School of Medicine, Croatia. I hold a master's degree in mathematical statistics and currently work in the field of statistical genetics. I’m fluent in all things statistics, frequentist or Bayesian, genome-wide association studies, Mendelian randomization studies and linear mixed modelling. My main research focus is the genetic regulation of thyroid and parathyroid function and calcium homeostasis. Using data from the Croatian biobank "10,001 Dalmatians" and conducting genome-wide analyses, I test the associations of phenotypic traits with genome-wide imputed data using both frequentist and Bayesian approaches. Master's degree focused in Mathematics and Statistics from Department of Mathematics, University of Zagreb. Skilled in Statistical Data Analysis, Statistical Modelling, and Databases.Experienced Small Business Owner.

In addition to frequentist statistical methods, I am also applying various Bayesian methods for the analyses of genomic data. Since the focus of our project are the environmental and genetic effects on thyroid hormones, I am responsible for everything from testing the environmental effects on hormone levels using SPSS, SAS and R, to genome-wide association analyses using R, PLINK, VCFtools and SNPTEST in a Linux environment.
