Cross-functional bioenergy knowledge and experience at various degrees of responsibility to date provide the skills to contribute in diverse project areas such as:- Techno-economic feasibility analysis for the establishment of biofuel production facilities, as well as biomass-fired and biogas combined heat and power plants at different scales.- Mobile briquetting and pelletizing plant development.- Introduction of pelletizing technologies for the production of alternative products, other than solid biofuels, as for example densified forage, granulated fertilizers and animal bedding.- Development of sustainable energy crop fields and short rotation coppice.- Implementation of biofuel quality assessment systems.- Application of pyrolysis technologies for the production of charcoal briquettes from woody or agricultural residues to serve as solid biofuels and of biochar-agrichar to serve as soil improving and carbon sequestration agents.- Development of Biochar and BCR market uptake applications.- Local energy for the local communities: establishment of small and flexible local units for biofuel production, which collect feedstock in collaboration with members of local community, produce solid biofuels at a viable production capacity and distribute the finished products to meet the requirements of local community again, thereby providing new jobs at all stages of the local supply chain.- Biomass franchise network: creation and support of regional and/or national biomass/bioenergy brand names based on quality and sustainability criteria.- Design and support of promotion campaigns about sustainable biomass utilization depending on market maturity and local availability of biomass resources.
