I’m a climate and water risk specialist by training and have spent the last decade characterizing physical climate risks and designing adaptation programs. In the climate risk space, I began at Four Twenty Seven (now Moody’s) where I led a team developing a first-of-its-kind approach to evaluating physical climate risk. The scoring framework is now widely used by credit rating agencies, asset managers, insurers, development banks, and municipalities. During this time, I also served as the Principal Investigator for the California Heat Assessment Tool, also known as CHAT (cal-heat.org), which still today helps cities across the state plan and prepare for extreme heat. I continue this work as a science advisor to federal agencies, helping design forward-looking adaptation and resilience approaches in communities receiving donor funding. I'm also excited to help new companies and green entrepreneurs with their business models and impact goals. Through all these efforts, I aim to find new and effective ways to scale-up climate solutions that support communities on the frontlines of climate change.
