Geotechnical Engineer
CurrentResponsibilities:• Collaborated with Council's development engineers, structural engineers, building consents staff, resource consents staff, regulatory services specialists, compliance officers, and Resilient Land and Coasts team to optimize information sharing and service delivery.• Assisted in the operation and assessment of consents, including building consent, resource consent, and engineering plan approval applications, by providing geotechnical engineering advice and assessment within required timeframes.• Conducted high-quality assessments of applications against the provisions of the Resource Management Act, Building Act, building code, Auckland Unitary Plan, Bylaws, Council's Codes of Practice, and relevant industry standards.• Provided professional assessments of compliance matters, enabling effective decision making, and collaborated with other stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes.• Recorded natural hazards and made decisions regarding the imposition or upliftment of Section 73 hazard notices.• Conducted compliance assessments as required, including travel and work outside of core hours.• Participated and contributed to pre-application meetings, policy discussions, and technical meetings/training as required.• Applied risk management policies, procedures, and practices appropriately.• Adhered to the Code of Ethical Conduct practices.
