Current Occupation and Other engagements : Attached to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka and presently serving in the capacity of Director of the Inspectorate Division. In addition to that I’m practicing as a freelance consultant electrical engineer in the area of building electrical services, teaching in three institutions as a visiting lecturer, work as a post-doctoral researcher attached to the atmospheric research group of the University of Colombo Sri Lanka and a co-supervisor of a Ph.D student in the same university. Academic Information: Research interests are transient over voltages and power quality, renewable energy, demand management and Lightning protection and Transient behavior of external lightning protection system. Served as the secretary to the local organizing committee of the 35th International Conference on Lightning Protection (35th ICLP 2021). I have published 16 papers as the principal author, 04 papers a co-author in peer reviewed international conferences and IEEE EMC journal. I received young Scientists diploma award for the paper presented in 34th ICLP in Poland. Currently serving as a visiting lecturer in University of Vocational Technology, National School of Business Management and City School of Architect.Professional Information: A corporate member (chartered Electrical Engineer) of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka and Member of the IEEE. Contributing to the building services committee, electrical engineering committee of the institution of engineers Sri Lanka and member of the Toastmasters club of the institution of Engineers Sri Lanka.Moreover, In my career I have done several different energy efficient Electrical designs for various installations such as Commercial Buildings, Apartment Buildings, Office Buildings, Hotels, Hospitals, Blood Banks, Leisure Parks, Luxury Housing Complexes, Police Stations, Telecom sectors, Academy Buildings, Sport Clubs etc., In my Designs, I have accomplished, Lighting level calculations and lighting distribution designs, Power calculation and distribution, Breaker sizing, Cable sizing, Generator sizing, Transformer sizing, UPS sizing, Main panel and Sub distribution panel designs, Direct and Indirect lighting protection systems, and Earthling systems. Moreover, I am involved in Testing & Commissioning of Commercial and Residential Buildings, Preparing Specifications, preparation of BOQs, carrying out technical evaluations and Tender Evaluations etc., throughout the past 24 years of professional engagements.
