Analysis of water quality from Stockpiled Woolmulch, Environmental Sciences Department. An investigation of quantity and quality of leachate generated from Stockpiled Woodmulch, New Jersey. Project involved in field sampling and chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses of water samples. Assist an advanced PhD student to maintain experimental set up, handle and collect water samples from autosamplers, and transport to the laboratory. Laboratory analysis includes reagents and media preparation, and actual analyses of the water samples. Measure pH; determine color, biological oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) analysis.

Research focused on the oxidation of metal sulfides and reduced sulfur sources by microorganisms. - Pure cultures to look at microbes mineral interactions. - Set up, maintained, sampled cultures, enrichment cultures and measured sulfate producing using Ion Chromatography (IC). - Plated on selective medium for isolation of organisms. - Analyzed chemical data using IC method and Graphed the data using excel.
