n 2005 the city of Antalya opened her doors to the international film community by organizing the 1st International Film Festival that took place in conjunction with the 43rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. I was hired by Engin Yiğitgil, President of TURSAK Foundation as General Coordinator for the International Film Festival and my responsibilities included managing a team and we were responsible for the arrival of over 500 international guests including celebrities and VIP guest. Scope of business also involved event management, setting up and overseeing the training of hospitality stations, coordinating all PR activities, organizing workshops and coordinating all media and press relations. Our main objective was to introduce Turkish cinema to the world and to bring together the artistry of Europeans and Asian filmmakers and pay tribute to their work. Over 1000 guests were invited to Antalya to celebrate this monumental occasion and over 12000 people took part in the closing ceremony held in Aspendos, one of the largest open-air antiquated theatres in the world. For the very first time the 43rd Golden Orange introducing Antalya as a new member of the international film festival circuit.
