  • Atoms Laboratory
Researcher, Supervisor - Dr. Cristina Amon
Atoms Laboratory Aug 2023 - Present
    The University Of Toronto
A Comparison of Image Segmentation Techniques for Use in Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulations of the Pulmonary Veins•Segment images obtained via Computed Tomography (CT-Scans)•Reconstruct 3D-images of Pulmonary veins.•Evaluate impact of image segmentation techniques on key haemodynamic parameters such as Wall Shear Stress using computation fluid dynamics (CFD analysis)
  • Decisionics Lab
    Design Engineer
    Decisionics Lab Sep 2023 - Apr 2024
    Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Designed an innovative pressure-sensing prosthetic thumb that delivers vibrotactile feedback to the user’s palm. Feedback location and intensity is communicated to the user in real-time, via vibrations and LCD screen. My contributions included:- Supported the medical device design and development process, including drafting, CAD modeling, and assembly using SolidWorks. Demonstrated proficiency in soldering and testing connections between vibrotactile units and electrical housing, ensuring seamless integration of electrical and mechanical components for effective pressure sensing.- Leveraged 3D modeling and 3D printing for rapid prototyping and production of prosthetic enclosures, sockets, and attachment methods, adhering to stringent medical device standards and regulations.- Collaborated with cross-functional teams, including hand surgeons, experts, and users (amputees), to evaluate the user experience and practicality of the prosthetic thumb.
  • North York General Hospital
    Quality Improvement Intern
North York General Hospital Aug 2022 - Aug 2023
•Comprehensive knowledge of improvement methodologies, experiential design, and qualitative analysis•Conducted root-cause analysis within Palliative Care Clinic to identify gaps in workflow.•Modeled the Palliative Care Clinic workflow using Simul8, to build a business case that would support leadership in decision-making.•Extracted and analysed data from charts of over 850 breast cancer patients to present key measures for accreditation.•Interviewed patients and staff to identify needs during improvement efforts in 5 areas of the hospital. •Utilized VBA/Macros to pull patient experience surveys data in real-time.
  • The University Of Toronto Engineering Society
    Mentorship Director
The University Of Toronto Engineering Society Jul 2022 - Apr 2023
This year, I was appointed to be the HiSkule Mentorship Director. HiSkule is an engineering outreach program, that inspires young students to pursue a career in engineering. As the Mentorship Director, I aim to support students in building connections, and learning more about STEM.
  • U Of T Undergraduate Engineering Research Day (Unerd)
    Director Of Logistics
U Of T Undergraduate Engineering Research Day (Unerd) Jul 2022 - Aug 2022
UnERD is an opportunity for students participating in summer research to showcase their work. This is a student-led conference. I was appointed as the logistics director. Part of my duties included scheduling, planning of the event, and guiding volunteers.
  • Ut Biome
    Device Team Member
    Ut Biome Sep 2021 - Apr 2022
UTBIOME is a biomedical engineering design team/club whereby students across different faculties collaborate to solve a design-based problem. This team was an opportunity for me to gain some preliminary exposure into Biomedical Engineering. This year we focused on designing Emergency Ventilators used for Covid-19. My task was to compile a set of testing methods that would later be used to test our prototype.
  • Robotics For Space Exploration
    Mechanical Designer
Robotics For Space Exploration Sep 2020 - Jan 2022
Robotics for Space Xploration is a student-led club that builds rovers that ultimately compete at seasonal competitions. As the mechanical designer, I largely worked on the design and improvement of the rover's wheels. I also began work on the "Testing rig" of the wheels that was needed to test any new wheel designs.
