Nilip Deb is an Indian cinematographer and film director based in Mumbai. He originally hails from the State of Assam. Nilip post-graduated in Cinema with a specialization in Cinematography from the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), India.Nilip founded Blue Yacht and shot his first self-funded short film ‘Prison’, which earned several nominations and awards. Thanks to this recognition, Nilip got a funding for his next short film ‘Cheers My Love’, followed by ‘The Missing Girl’, which was shot in his hometown in Assam with numerous amateur children acting in it.Nilip is an associate member of the Western India Cinematographers’ Association (WICA) and Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA).
