I have been involved in the development and implementation of several new in vitro assays for the identification of misfolded proteins that may contribute to disease in the nervous system.I am responsible for maintaining cell lines, generating stable transfected cells and adapting primary cells to function in our biological assays.Ambitious both professionally and privately, eager to learn and continuously develop my competencies. At the Department of Pathology I was responsible for developing an assay for detecting Ewing sarcomas in tissue biopsies through Real-Time PCR. The assay was validated by using several positive and negative cell lines. The overall purpose of this study was to implement this method as an objective test to assist pathologists in diagnosis of patients.

This work has given me skills in departments such as, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and sterile production laboratories Class B. I gained experience with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GMP (Good Manufacturing practice). In QC and QA, my tasks were to review the obtained data from stability analyses, and present them to the department, so they could be used by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, USA) upon inspection. During my time at Kræftens Bekæmpelse I worked on a project with the title "The role of the Erbb receptor family in anti-estrogen resistant cell lines".During this project I got to work with a new revolutionary line of treatment, namely the antibody Herceptin® (trastuzumab) a targeted therapy for HER2 Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer and HER2 Positive Gastric Cancer. The work involved screening and understanding the possible mode of action of this particular antibody.
