Solutions Consultant Emea

London

City Dynamics is a Microsoft Gold partner with a global client base and I worked with the largest clients to get the most value out of their Dynamics implementation. I provided tailored consultancy to maximise clients' system utilisation and increase productivity. This included creating custom SQL script and stored procedures to create a dynamic system our clients could get the most out of. I delivered business process solutions and staff training, often on-site, which was great as I enjoy travelling. In my time with City Dynamics I designed and implemented a custom currency converter that was flexible yet robust enough for a client with operations in a dozen currencies. Which in turn increased the ARR.

Erp System Team Leader

Southend On Sea, United Kingdom

My team of six system analysts provided support to 1,500 system users of business-critical platform, running the council’s £450m per annum service budget. To ensure each team member delivered their objectives, I conducted monthly 1-2-1 meetings and annual appraisals with 6 monthly reviews. Through system development, the team could gain a better understanding of the platform. I also managed a number of external consultants developing the system to maximise value for the organisation, which involved quality checking work and approving timesheets. In order to motivate and bond the team, I arranged regular socials, team lunches and fun competitions...such as The Great Office Bake Off!Achievements:--> My first initiative was to set up and chair an inter-departmental task force to streamline processes and reduce data entry, which resulted in identifying 13 bottlenecks in our information flow to (and within) the ERP system. This meant 5 spend-to-save projects were added to the overall ERP project plan.--> During my time as Team Leader I converted a manual invoice entry into a fully automated XML invoice process increasing the Accounts Payable team capacity by 20%.--> Interviewed and hired staff for three permanent roles as well as negotiating contracts for external consultants--> I managed the Corporate ERP Project portfolio containing 26 separate projects and presented monthly updates to the Programme Governance Board of internal and external stakeholders.

Financial Accountant (Technical & Compliance)

Southend On Sea, United Kingdom

I managed a team of 12 including VAT, Income Management, Compliance and Control functions. My main priority was to provide the best support possible for my team so that they could fulfil their individual roles. This involved monthly 1-2-1 meetings and annual appraisals with 6 monthly reviews. I analysed our internal processes to drive efficiencies and ensure team synergy. An important aspect of my was role was to allocate all income received within strict deadlines and execute investment portfolio trades for optimal cash flow. I also prepared the Annual Accounts, writing various reports and presenting to corporate boards. As part of an efficiency drive in the team I did a detailed analysis of our transactional data and managed to achieve savings of more than £500k through VAT reclamation, contract negotiations and other efficiencies over a three year period. This process also identified a gap in our compliance structure around payments received so I took it upon myself to obtain PCI-DSS level 2 compliance, saving £24k a year.I moved a paper based fund approval process to a platform we were already using by creating custom workflows (with reminders!) and this meant that approvals which would have previously taken 3 weeks, now took just four days.
