Nil Sicart completed his high school education in the United States, where he was awarded a scholarship. Upon returning, he earned an Advanced Degree in Environmental Chemistry and graduated in Geography, Spatial Planning, and Environmental Management in 2017 from the University of Girona. Since then, he has continued to enhance his skills with specialized courses in drone applications across various fields. After graduating in 2017, he founded his company, MapsAndDrones. This company specializes in data capture using drones equipped with various sensors, including multispectral, thermal, LIDAR, and RGB, focusing on their processing, visualization, and analysis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).The applications of MapsAndDrones projects cover a wide range of purposes, from agriculture and urban planning to environmental management and the inspection and monitoring of specific areas. Sicart has particularly excelled in the field of 3D modeling, both aerial and terrestrial, and in the advanced treatment and visualization of data.In addition to his business activities, Sicart has combined his professional experience with educational roles, serving as an associate professor at the University of Girona and offering private courses on the use of drones in various sectors. He has also conducted seminars at universities and high schools, sharing his technical knowledge and practical applications of drone technology.Among his most notable collaborations are projects for various Natural Parks such as the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park, and the Illes Medes Natural Park, as well as for the University of Girona, wineries of the Qualified Designation of Origin (DOQ) Priorat, municipalities, and water engineering companies. These collaborations reflect Sicart’s ability to apply advanced technology across different sectors and environmental and geographical contexts, reinforcing his reputation in the field of applied geography and drone technology.
