In 2010 I launched Nils Weldy & Associates (NWA) with a mission to design, plan and execute a new generation of experiential events for the benefit of its participants, partners, sponsors and attendees.NWA created and produced the Queen City Brewers Festival (QCBF) leading to a 9-year run of bringing together the Charlotte region’s craft beverage producers, celebrating their contributions to the Queen City while serving organizations that help improve the quality of life for individuals of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. In 2021, NWA developed a collaborative beer to benefit ACEing Autism programs in North Carolina and South Carolina, named "Court Shoes Only". This beer initiative has attracted 75 breweries across the Carolinas - over a three-year period - to capture the spirit of the brewery community in the cities ACEing Autism has a program location to raise awareness, accessibility and affordability of its specialized tennis curriculum for individuals with autism. After working with brewery owners in the Charlotte region for over a decade, I took on the role of Executive Director with the Charlotte Independent Brewers Alliance (CIBA) in the fall of 2017. In this position I worked alongside a Board of Directors to deliver events, technical programming, guidance and access to business service providers through its associate membership program. This experience was invaluable as it prepared me for the position I currently hold: Executive Director of the Rhode Island Brewers Guild.Prior to founding NWA, I spent over 8 years as a sales and marketing executive with the NHL’s Boston Bruins, NBA’s Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets). I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Vermont where I played Division I Men’s Tennis. I am always interested in making new connections and reconnecting with old colleagues. Shoot me a note and I’d love to talk marketing, partnerships, sports and of course, beer.
