I am passionate about community development, with a focus on equity and inclusion. I am a 1st generation immigrant from Mexico, though I've lived in the Cedar Valley for most of my life. I received my undergraduate degree in Public Administration with a minor in History from the University of Northern Iowa. I co-founded and served as Board Vice-President of DREAM Iowa, a statewide non profit organization working to empower immigrant and refugee Iowans to carry forward a shift from generational poverty to generational wealth. I am actively involved in my community, and was selected as a recipient of the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier's 20 under 40 awards for the Class of 2022.
