Nima Heidari is an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon renowned for his expertise in bone infection, foot and ankle conditions, including sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, and deformities. In 2012, he was appointed as a consultant at The Royal London Hospital, the UK's largest trauma center, where he set up and led the Bone Infection and Limb Reconstruction services. Under his leadership, the unit expanded into a comprehensive orthoplastic team comprising five consultants, three registrars, one fellow, and support from two allied health professionals. After a dedicated tenure, Professor Heidari has retired from the NHS.Beyond his clinical practice, he has made significant contributions to medical education and research. He holds an MSc from University College London and a PhD from the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures, where he serves as a Visiting Professor. As the founder of OS Clinic, he has established a leading private orthopaedic practice. Notably, he developed the only orthoplastics and diabetic foot unit in London's private sector at The London Clinic. Professor Heidari has authored over 90 peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters, focusing on precision medicine and the role of AI in healthcare as well as limb reconstruction techniques, bone biologics, and fracture fixation methods. His commitment to education is further demonstrated through his role as chairman of the UK AO Foot Course for the past eight years and chair of the Advanced Foot Course for AO in Davos.In addition to his medical achievements, Professor Heidari serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at European Quantum, a company dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into healthcare. In this role, he explores the application of AI to enhance clinical decision-making and patient outcomes, particularly in joint preservation for arthritis. His work at European Quantum reflects his commitment to the security of personal and sensitive data as well as a sustainable approach to use of AI improve patient care and the preservation of the environment.Professor Heidari is dedicated to patient care, medical education, and innovative research.
