Project: Afghanistan Investment Team and Business Accelerator Program • Spent a year living in Afghanistan as part of the US Government’s effort to reduce violence through technology• Developed the country’s first business accelerator program by providing aspiring tech entrepreneurs, CEOs, and company leaders with training on business planning, negotiation, procurement, financial modeling, and operational improvements• Created the country’s first private equity fund, with responsibilities including sourcing of companies, performing due diligence, facilitating access to capital, and evaluating available financing options for performing companies• Led partnership development for and hosted the New York City Afghanistan Investment Conference, attended by private equity funds, major corporations, US and Afghan government officials and non-governmental institutionsProject: University of California, Office of the President • Project Lead for IBM’s effort to rebuild the University of California Enterprise Risk Management System, with the program saving $200M according to the University’s estimates• Oversaw a team of developers who designed, tested and sold solutions for the University’s Risk Report framework, allowing the Office of the President to use Cognos 10/IBM Forms as a way to spot risk trends across campuses• Worked with UCOP senior leadership to create and implement an analytic framework designed to capture disaster preparedness cost-savings
