Along with my knowledge of software troubleshooting skills I also have a great deal of hardware troubleshooting skills and knowledge to offer. Being a system builder I continually keep up on new technology and have to upgrade older hardware. I have a very high learning curve when it comes to computers. I also work closely with the training schedulers for setup of classes with the instructors so that we have increased lab utilization within our department. Because of our needs of training virtually, I have created Web-based interfaces for trainers and students to utilize for the classes so that they can interact with the physical equipment such as Fiber Channel SAN switches and power management units from an easy to use interface. I have since virtualized the student Windows and Red Hat Servers and increased our lab capacity using VMware ESXi servers in our environment. Along with that I have configured Altiris deployment servers to do the entire configuration for all our various classes. All of this combined has allowed our setup time to be decreased from over two hours down to twenty minutes for a classroom setup to be completed. I am also responsible for managing two student contractors and having them perform various lab duties when necessary.
