Work with content developers on settings up development equipment for new class creation and deploy those new images when the class development is completed. I also work closely with the training schedulers for setup of classes with the instructors so that we have increased lab utilization within our department. Because of our needs of training virtually, I have created Web-based interfaces for trainers and students to utilize for the classes so that they can interact with the physical equipment such as Fiber Channel SAN switches and power management units from an easy to use interface. I have since virtualized the student Windows and Red Hat Servers and increased our lab capacity using VMware ESXi servers in our environment. Along with that I have configured Altiris deployment servers to do the entire configuration for all our various classes. All of this combined has allowed our setup time to be decreased from over two hours down to twenty minutes for a classroom setup to be completed. I am also responsible for managing two student contractors and having them perform various lab duties when necessary. These websites help deliver products offered by our channel partners for delivery to resellers and end users. This involves working with managers from other departments within the company to setup these sites to fit various business needs. In working with these managers I utilize various components for Joomla and sometimes even modify the code to work with the site and correct errors with web-browser compatibility. We also utilize Google Analytics and Excellent Analytics for producing reports to those managers to help them see site traffic, especially after we send out newsletters that market new products or training offered on the site. Additionally I have staged various other programs to help fulfill needs such as Moodle for training, ResourceSpace for Digital Asset Management, and WordPress and Wiki for holding various CMS structures. Another function I provide is creating videos for marketing and sells purposes utilizing Final Cut Pro for Mac. One set of these videos I have created deals with storage basics that explains very complicated ideas about storage and brings them down to simple terms in a visual language.
