Nimesh Shah is a R&D Director at Checkpoint Systems. Colleagues describe him as "Over the past 5 years, my team and I have worked with Nimesh on numerous occasions regarding product development and sustaining related items. As a Senior Director of Product Management, Nimesh has always role modeled Customer Advocacy. From my personal observations, whenever product issues would arise with Nimesh’s customers, he would immediately respond by gathering the pertinent information; organize the proper personnel to address the issue; and either hand off ownership or in some cases, lead the resolution team himself until the issue was satisfactorily resolved. During the entire process, Nimesh would remain in close contact with customers to ensure they were properly informed and completely satisfied with the outcome. As part of the New Product Definition process, Nimesh was responsible for gathering the Product Requirements and creating the Market Requirements Document. All of Nimesh’s new products always had very high quality Product Requirements documents based on his diligence and meticulous attention to detail. Nimesh was always a great team player and was constantly looking for “win-win” solutions whenever conflicts or priority calls came into play. I would highly recommend Nimesh for a leadership role in any organization that values Customer Advocacy, Attention to Detail, Team Work, Discipline, Results Orientation, and Technical skills" and "I have worked with Nimesh for a few years in various activities. The most recent being a program where he was the product manager. The program was a challenging strategic program aimed at entering a new vertical market where a clear solution was not known to exist. Nimesh was instrumental in providing clarity to a challenging set of requirements. He is very knowledgeable in his area and understands how critical these requirements are for the team and is diligent in making sure they are understood by the technical team and written with enough detail for the team to translate into technical requirements and act. On this program he also was the team's liason between sales and the customer and coordinated with them and me to manage customer engagements. He also demonstrated his knowledge on customer expectations for ROI and drove the team to define clear metrics that would prove success for the program. His leadership efforts were vital to the team's success in making sure expectations were clearly set and his communication at all levels within the team and outside the team were excellent and direct. What I appreciated most about his leadership as product owner was that he set expectations and then let the team execute; he did not micro-manage our efforts, yet was there when we needed him for guidance and to insure the team was taking the right direction strategically. While the program was very challenging, Nimesh did everything above and beyond expectations to ensure the team could deliver. He clearly owns his products and takes accountability for his decisions. I also worked with him on improving solution development and go-to-market processes for the Product Management team. He was assigned as the process lead for the Product Management team. His efforts provided clarity to processes that were previously undocumented and were strategically focused on meeting objectives for the project management office by improving these processes to ensure Checkpoint was ready for product launches. He made sure that the processes were integrated properly with other development processes. He reviewed his proposals with me as they evolved to ensure his changes aligned with other changes I was making concurrently. Again, Nimesh's attention to detail and clear understanding of what needs to be done to execute at all levels was critical to making sure that these improvements would be successfully implemented. He provided all the training and managed the changes within the product management team. I have found working with Nimesh rewarding because his expectations and leadership have resulted in helping the team achieve the best possible results each step of the way."
