I am a translation business owner, an avid reader and a lifelong learner. I have over 18 years of experience in providing high-quality translations in various languages, fields and formats for clients from different backgrounds and cultures. My specialty is creative translations in the areas of fashion, travel and TV, where I can apply my flair for language, localisation and cultural adaptation. I mainly translate catalogues, websites, online marketing campaigns and social media posts, but I have also translated several non-fiction books and children's literature. I also have extensive experience with translating legal and medical documents, and I frequently proofread master theses. I pride myself on delivering accurate, engaging, and timely translations that are tailored specifically to the target audience and meet the needs and expectations of my clients. I have a strong academic background in law, having studied Public Law and Private Law as well as Legal Science in Norway for 2.5 years. I have also worked as a Paralegal, which honed my skills in legal research, document preparation and attention to detail. In this role, as well as in my former job working at a translation agency, I have managed projects, contracts, reference material and invoices using a wide variety of software tools and platforms. I am familiar with confidentiality clauses and used to tight deadlines.Working as a tourist guide and sponsor host for several years helped me refine my people skills and developed my verbal presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. I thoroughly enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures, and I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn more and expand my horizons. In my spare time, when I’m not reading or studying through Coursera, I sing in a choir, go hiking, take landscape photographs and run a blog. I love animals and nature, and I am passionate about protecting the environment.
