Corporal (Cpl.) N.E. Knapp has been employed with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) since November 2017 and holds a current APOST certification. Prior to this, her law enforcement job experience consisted of Millbrook Police Department, (Patrol Officer 12/14-4/17) and Lieber Correctional Institute, (Correctional Officer, 2/14-10/14). Her current assignment at MCSO is as an Investigator with the MCSO Special Operations Division-Narcotics.As an Investigator, Cpl. Knapp has been the case agent for numerous cases involving narcotics, identity theft, crypto crimes, and criminal conspiracy/enterprises. She has also been the co-case agent on several high-profile cases involving human trafficking. She has also worked with federal agencies in co-cases including the US Marshal Service, Homeland Security Investigations, US Postal Inspectors, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. She served as a Task Force Officer for the Montgomery RO (DEA) for a little over a year as well.Cpl. Knapp is a certified Standard Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), Advanced Roadside Impairment Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Crisis Intervention (CIT), and BOLA Wrap Instructor. Corporal Knapp has completed over 500 continuing education hours relating to Controlled Substances and Impairment since 2015 and teaches DRE curriculums annually. The DRE program is internationally recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and is regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Corporal N.E. Knapp has also participated as either an evaluator, scribe, or witness in over 90 documented drug influence evaluations. Cpl. Knapp has prior law enforcement experience working for the Millbrook Police Department as a patrol officer and for the South Carolina Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer at a Lieber Correctional Institution (Level Three Security), with primary assignments on Death Row, Edisto Unit (Mental Health) and Cooper Unit (Security Threat Groups/Gangs). She also has a BA in English from The Citadel: The Military College of South Carolina (2013) and a MS in Criminal Justice Administration from Faulkner University (2019).
