PAPYRUS is the primary British charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. Revenue in 2018/2019 of over £3m. Key responsibilities - Carrying out an Operational Review of the charity and report to the Head of Trustees. Make recommendations with respect to increased effectiveness and efficiency of all operations. - Contributing to the establishment of and being an active part of PAPYRUS’ leadership team. - Establish, develop and maintain strategic partnerships- Represent PAPYRUS on media (radio, newspapers, TV)- Represent PAPYRUS towards the Parliament and other public, private and charitable organisations - Delivering presentations on the subject of suicide prevention at conferences and workshops- Deliver regular two-day workshops in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills.- Grow and manage the team and charity’s work in Greater London (population over 8 million).- Responsible for all product development During my employment, public awareness of young suicide and demand for PAPYRUS services increased dramatically; PAPYRUS revenue trebled. I contributed to the effective management of this situation by - Establishing several new key strategic relationships, helping PAPYRUS and related organisations work more effectively to support vulnerable young people.- Helped ensure a stable and effective leadership team - Actively changed the company culture to improve openness and communication - Represented PAPYRUS in the capital (the charity is headquartered in Warrington).

As part of a six month “Return To Technology” Programme, within the Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific (AMAP) Planning and Performance team. - Working with global virtual team to monitor and support Vodafone’s various AMAP Operating Companies’ day-to-day operations as well as their medium-to-longer term technology deployments. - Built a complete overview of the AMAP Operating Companies’ IT systems and vendors. - Instigated, planned and carried out global video-conferences to share best practice across the region. Subjects included SIM provisioning, SIM box fraud, CRM, Big Data/ Hadoop. These conferences promoted potential savings per Operating Company of several million GBP.

Subsequently led application sourcing and then took on the role of supporting third party developers. Headed up the production and publication of third party developer guidelines for MAP and J2ME. Also headed up the development of compliance and testing guidelines for third party developers. Managed the separation from Motorola to form a provider of third party developer services for Sony-Ericsson as well as Motorola.

Single handedly created a co-operative network involving telecommunications engineers from countries in the Arab region, from Syria to Morocco. This ensured standardised mobile networks across the region, which in turn lead to faster network procurement, deployment and roaming capabilities. Single-handedly organised a very successful technical and commercial conference involving dozens of speakers and hundreds of delegates from Arab countries. Based on that conference, the Arab league supported the GSM standard as the Arab region's preferred technical standard.

Worked with the European Telecommunications Standardisation Institute to develop the now globally adopted GSM standard for mobile systems. Personally responsible for authoring several technical standards. Attended technical conferences and represented the Norwegian Telecom Organisation at these events, for both commercial and technical matters. Had a central role in NT's procurement of the first and second generation GSM networks.
