I'm just a girl from Detroit who loves movies. My favorite pastime as a kid was going to the movies with my mom and sister every Saturday. I was drawn to the power of storytelling and how it brings us all together. I grew up wanting to make stories- and I've had the opportunity to make quite a few- but now I want to dedicate my career to ensuring equal production opportunities for women of color. I'm an arts administrator looking to pivot into an art director position with a small to medium size philanthropic or film production organization. My desire is to preserve and expand the film landscape through the development and expansion of grants programming that will fund independent work written and/or directed by women of color. I want to fund the creation of more opportunities for women of color to break into Hollywood.I currently am working in grants management and alternate dispute resolutions to beef up my skill set as an arts administrator. I've learned a lot about project management, grassroots fundraising, and grants management. I've had the opportunity to fine-tune how grants systems are managed with the aSHE Fund, streamlined processes for festival preparation at JxJ at the Edlavitch Jewish Community Center, and improve meeting and event planning strategies with JSA. With these accomplishments, I'm ready to lead an arts organization in achieving big goals, creating engaging and inclusive programming, while increasing donations and their donor base to provide funding for independent women of color filmmakers.
