Facilitating a smooth transition to the new Director of Development at Genesys Works, as I step away from the role to return to the Netherlands after a rewarding five-year tenure in the Bay Area.

As Executive Director I was initially promoted to help streamline and grow the California operation. After my appointment, it became clear that a transition to a more climate stable location on the East Coast was the best option for Sweet Farm. I coordinated this major transition from California to upstate New York and helped build up a strong team in the new location. After the transition I decided to step back as Executive Director, to make room for local leadership to help the organization thrive. I committed to stay on as strategic advisor remotely to help build development and grant writing capacity in the team.

War Child's mission is to help children in war-affected communities reclaim their childhood through access to education, opportunity and justice. War Child takes an active role in raising public awareness around the impact of war on communities and the shared responsibility to act.To be able to do our work, we forge strong relationships with foundations, companies and the wider public. With our friendships in the creative industry we are able to organize amazing campaigns and events to raise awareness and funds. And with our robust programmatic knowledge we are a trusted partner for foundations and major donors. I'm proud to be leading an effort for War Child to identify philantropic trends in the Bay Area and wider California. I will be reaching out to companies and foundations to get acquainted and map out the opportunities and challenges to grow War Child's support. Can't wait to reach out to inspirational people to identify ways to increase our impact.

I decided to move to the USA in 2019. This was the reason I resigned as manager of the Partnership team at War Child Holland. I stayed on as Strategic Partnership Advisor to help with the transition. This consisted of:- hiring my replacement and help settling her in;- reorganizing the Partnership team by integrating Corporate giving, Major Donor giving, 3rd party actions, Foundation and Legacy giving; - monitoring KPI's and assisting with quarterly reporting;- co-writing the Major Donor strategy and case for supportIn this period I helped to create and sustain strategic and impactful partnerships to raise funds and awareness to help children affected by war and conflict. In November 2019 I was part of a panel discussion at Dreamforce (the major Salesforce event in San Francisco) to discuss the impact of the global campaign I helped set up between Salesforce and War Child Holland (see link below).

My proudest achievements as manager of the Partnership team at War Child Holland:* increased ROI of my team (6 direct reports) by: - building our network of Major Gift givers (corporate, private and foundations); - coaching on consultative selling skills; - improved alignment with adjacent teams; - and creating a happy team, where co-workers have ownership and room to show creativity and entrepreneurship (such an awesome team :-))* overachieving on annual targets- consistent growth numbers between 10 to 30% per year * improved KPI setting, through improved collaboration with adjacent teams * development of new (highly effective) value propositions* improved engagement and collaboration with board members* improved alignment throughout the global War Child family

As Sr. Corporate Partnership Manager, I was most proud of:- my consultative selling, networking and business development skills, through which I always met my targets. - having the lead in major corporate accounts and prospects like; ASML, Brand Loyalty, Akzo Nobel and Philips. - being an active team member in the global partnership team of SOS Children's Villages International.- Landing a major global partnership with Akzo Nobel.- how I developed my leadership and coaching skills as interim manager of my team.

In 2013 I joined the global corporate partnership team of SOS Children's Villages International. This group consisted of a small group of top performing fundraisers in the SOS Children's Villages federation (134 countries). We joined forces to:- close bigger global deals by working together on global accounts- create global campaigns - and learn from each other's experiences.Beside my role in this group, my main focus was still: growing corporate partnerships in the Dutch territory.

After a year of successfully landing new business, I felt the need to specialize in the corporate field. The reason being, that I love the dynamics of corporate partnerships. It ask a lot of your creativity to build win-win partnerships that go beyond pure funding. If you play your cards right; corporate partnerships can benefit your branding, your reach and even your individual fundraising goals.

After a successful pregnancy leave replacement, I was asked to stay on to find new business where ever I could find it :-). A new job was created for me. Soliciting for grants through foundations and corporate partnerships became my focus.

Hired as replacement for pregnancy leave, to expand the pool of foundations to support the work of SOS Children's Villages in The Netherlands. Proudest achievement: tapping into a yet unexplored pool of corporate foundations that fit the mission and work of SOS Children's Villages very well. Growing foundation income and foundation network in less 6 months time.

I coordinated a nationwide project aimed at corporate social responsibility. I gave information and advice to companies and local authorities on this subject.

During and after my studies I worked as a manager at a NGO dedicated to supporting homeless youth and young moms in Amsterdam. I thought it was great challenge to create a strong network around the organization of volunteers, companies, foundations and local government.
