As an intern at Everlytic I was given the freedom of coming up with various ideas for generating content. I imagined the content and then implemented these ideas through copy writing, graphic design and video animation. After three months, I was employed permanently.

I work as a freelance designer and writer in my spare time. I started freelancing in my third year of university and built up a small clientele that call on my services when needed. I began with logo design, event posters, education booklet layouts and more. Later I extended my freelance services to include writing.

I worked as a newspaper designer at Cue Newspaper during the 2012 National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. We worked under late night/early morning deadlines to push the paper out the next day. The experience was fantastic. During the day I would go watch live bands, theatre productions and comedy acts. At night I would arrive in the newsroom, get briefed on the pages I had to layout and design away until all my work was approved.

I worked as a Sub-Warden in a team of three. Under the supervision of My Hall Warden and House Warden, I facilitated discipline and administration in a University Residence of 60+ students. This had various challenges that helped me work with and understand people better. Although it was a job with much unnecessary "drama", I enjoyed my role and will not forget the experiences I had as a Sub-Warden.

During my first year of University, I worked as a volunteer journalist at SA's oldest independent newspaper, Grocott's Mail. I needed to get some much needed experience in the Journalism world and Grocott's Mail was encouraging towards this. I wrote a couple of cool stories while working at Grocott's including a story about the "mole" situation in Grahamstown and a feature article on the Dictionary Unit of South Africa.

I worked as an Au-Pair for a family outside of Boston Massachusetts. My roles included domestic work and looking after two boys aged 4 and 6. This was part of my gap year and was a means for me to experience another culture, travel, study a little, meet new friends, learn some life lessons and earn a few bucks while doing so.
