With over 15 years as an urban & regional planner and multiple leadership roles, I am now pursuing a PhD that allows me opportunities to build bridges between planning and the communication discipline. My primary research interests include the documentation of public meetings through meeting minutes/notes and local media. I ask questions about how political knowledge might be disseminated through these documentation methods and the subsequent effects on community members' political self-efficacy. I am also interested in media discourse on climate change and public transportation.
