I have a passion for words be they creative or technical. I enjoy putting words together to form ideas, teach and instruct, tell stories, and even troubleshoot issues. The progression from technical writer to documentation engineer to technical publications manager was a natural path. Each step along the way allowed me to explore and grow as a writer and a creative problem solver. When asked if I was interested in filling a vacant quality manager position, my first thought was "I am a writer." My next thought was "Yes. Bring on the challenge." What I have discovered since taking on the new role of quality manager is that there wasn't a great deal of difference from my last role of technical publications manager. I love to learn, to problem solve, and to help others understand new processes. Writing and quality assurance both allow for analytical and creative thinking. Tracing an issue to its origin or assisting my colleagues with process improvements helps to keep the days fresh with new discoveries and challenges.
