About Nina Hillenberg

Nina is a Swedish/Australian national with over 19 years of international experience in her profession of Commercial and Residential Interior Design ranging across projects with universities, private homes, architectural firms, non-government organisations, cultural heritage organisations, and furniture design. Nina’s journey in Australia began in Queensland where she worked as a Designer in the tourist hot spot of Noosa while running the Swedish Style Boutique in James Street Brisbane. She now lecturers fulltime interior design and common core subjects and is passionate about helping students past and present work on real projects, after having successfully run 42 live briefs over the past 3 years.Nina has formal qualifications in Architecture, Interior Design and Law - after studying in Ljubljana, Stockholm, Venice, Adelaide, and Brisbane.When not lecturing at the Torrens Global Education Services Nina is either volunteering with Orange Sky Laundry, running Brisbane based Studio Hillenberg or spending the remaining hours of the day with her two daughters. Key interests; In no particular order, Education, Sustainability, Human Rights issues, Environmental issues, DV Family Law matters and Construction law.
