My work here consists of managing all experiments in our animal facility, the execution of multiple behavioural experiments, performing multiple operation techniques, administration and breeding of multiple different strains and accompanying internship students.

During my internship at Synaptologics BV I worked at an ongoing research topic: Schizophrenia.Within this very broad branch of research I focussed on the phenotyping of the Nrg3 mouse model by performing several behavioural experiments and interference within the Nrg3-ErbB4 signalling pathway. Both these genes are pointed out as susceptibilty genes for Schizophrenia.

For the VUmc I worked part-time at the department Clinical Genetics in close collaboration with the department of Functional Genome Analysis (FGA) of the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. In this role I have overseen different pre-clinical projects, experimental setups and surgeries and gave my advice to PhDs and interns.

At the AMC I supported a PhD in her research at the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time I was responsible for all data analysis of both animal and clinical trials about the effect of radiation on microcirculation in the mouth and the effect of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy on late radiation damage.
