Nina is responsible for leading and managing strategy and design projects with a strong focus on driving human-centred strategies to solve complex problems. In recent years the projects Nina has lead include:- Exploratory design research projects with government, private organisations and citizens in the welfare and health services domain. These projects uncovered service policy and administration hurdles through visualization of stakeholder and citizen experiences. - Innovation in service design projects for public organisations in such areas as Health, welfare and social services, compliance, regulation including law enforcement and border management, and security and intelligence services. These projects cover internal service innovation projects and new citizen services impacting millions of Australians.- Strategy and organisational design projects including leading cultural change projects, blueprinting organisational capability changes, whole of organisation IT system design, integrated strategic and business planning, business analysis and capability design and implementation

Nina was awarded her PhD in Management, titled, "Managing by Design from the University of Canberra in March 2013. Her thesis proposes a new form of public management – managing by design. The purpose of this study was to explore the adoption and embedding of design as a management practice in the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is known as a pioneer in the field of applying design approaches to public management problems. This case study applies Actor Network Theory (ANT) to draw out the importance of the human and non-human actors that make up networks of action and interaction, which over a decade have permitted the embedding of design in the management practices of the ATO. This study critically contributes to a growing interest in how organisations can adopt and embed design and, in particular, contributes empirical evidence of public management adopting design which directly contributes to the growing interests in citizen-centric management practices in public management and leadership. Nina worked in a variety of roles in such areas as:- Governance and Risk Management. Developed business risk assessments and planning.- Public Communications and Marketing. Developed marketing strategies and managed related activities for e-tax product.- Integrated Administration design. As design facilitator worked across many projects applying design methods and techniques in the design of organisational change projects and new policy projects.- Information Management and Analytics. Project managed initiatives establishing key frameworks and models for information management using design methods.- Organisational change initiatives including the redesign of communications function in the organisation using design methods and techniques.
