As the leading programme in South-East Asia, GDP spearheads technological advancement to treat both the pharmaceutical and medical waste. Currently, we have successfully developed a proprietary technology to separate composite materials. As a CDE ambassador, I am recognised as a student representative of my college to share about my experiences at NUS CDE. I have helped to lead various outreach initiatives for NUS Engineering and NUS CDE during events like CDE Open House, CDE Open Day. As part of the CDE Ambassador programme, I was able to practice and train my communication skills as a host for various school events. This has enabled me to become a confident public speaker. Being a CDE ambassador has also helped me to connect with people from different disciplines.

As part of NUS Office of Admissions (OAM) campaign to attract talented individuals and prospective students to accept their offer at NUS, I was nominated to be an OAM ambassador to represent my college CDE and my discipline. I took part in interviews and publicity shoots for this campaign and have shared my personal journey at NUS during various outreach. It has been a great honour and pleasure to represent my school to incoming batch of undergraduate.

Harvard College in Asia Programme (HCAP), founded in 2003, is a student organisation which strives to increase social exchanges between Harvard delegates and students from top universities in Asia. Each year, HCAP hosts a conference in January, bringing over delegates from eight prestigious partner universities to Harvard University. In March, HCAP NUS will host Harvard delegates as a partner university, engaging them in exciting cultural and academic activities. The Operation Cell ensures the day-to-day operations of the conference by collaborating with the Harvard administration. As the Operations Chair, I help to spearhead outreach to local companies for sponsorships and in-kind donations.

My department sources and provides workshops for our fellow peers with the aim to help them improve their employability.These workshops range from professional negotiations to digital marketing to effective communication and many more. We have also planned for workshops to better cater to our students' welfare such as mental wellness and etiquette workshops. Under my service in NUSSU, I was also part of the student leaders camp planning committee and the Appreciation Dinner planning committee.

Under my 3 months of attachment at JFE Engineering Corporation, I was tasked with two roles. One of the roles is to work as a research assistant in the NEWRI laboratory, the other role requires me to facilitate marketing work at the JFE Singapore office. Firstly, as a research assistant attached under COE, I was given the opportunity to conduct independent laboratory research. Through this journey, I was able to learn more about the importance of laboratory safety as well as many new techniques to conduct slag characterization. For example, I was able to recap some laboratory skills that I learned in school such as pH testing and performing titration. At the same time, I was also taught other skills such as performing bulk density test, leaching test, acid digestion test and measuring the moisture content of slag samples.I also had the opportunity to work as a marketing intern for the JFE Singapore branch. For this part of the journey I was able to facilitate the feasibility study of a project on 100% recycled plastic pallets. Under this project, the marketing team had to evaluate the capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenses (OPEX) of this project. Throughout this journey, I had the opportunity to attend a site visit to NinJa Van to understand better how we can recycle plastic from the delivery sectors. I was also tasked to do basic market demand research for other projects such as electric vehicle charging and the possibility of an oil palm Empty Fruit Branch energy industry in Singapore. Throughout this journey, I was able to learn more about marketing work and accomplish competitor analysis and market sensitivity analysis.
