Vice President of one of the largest Activity and Tour Providers in the State of Hawaii. My focus was all areas of marketing, advertising, and business development. In 2000, this company just had a few surf shops and 2 small charter boats. When I took the role of VP, I built this company into greatness with the help of my staff which grew to over 60 people and some of the best paid crew in the industry. I contracted over 400 tour providers from all over the entire state and leveraged our increased volume of ticket sales to demand the highest commissions possible. I was directly in charge of expansion, and that we did. First, I created operation procedures and handbooks, standardizing new hires and building programs to improve performance of staff that already worked there. I networked with commercial property management firms all over the state, and was able to add 4 more stores on Maui. I also added 3 stores on the island of Kauai, opening them myself, 3 stores on the Big Island, and 1 store on Oahu. As a promoter of timeshared properties, I was able to grow 30% more efficiency and sales from our team year over year from 2004-2007. I negotiated contracts all day long, including the contracts and creative work for our online and print ad budgets of over $1M per year. Built and developed what is now one of the best online presence for Hawaii tour providers with 100s of organic search terms placed at number one position on Google. Integrated a new POS system that revolutionized the sales force. Instead of calling in each booking and awaiting confirmation numbers, we used the system to do this electronically, saving precious sales time, and eliminating the costly chances of human error.I had a great team, and many of them are still great friends and networked contacts. This company is still successful after my departure, however, there are 6 managers doing all of my old duties. The president and I still meet for lunch and are mutually respected.

As the Co-founder of this concierge service company, I was involved with every step of the way from conception to our first contract, to where it is today. We relentlessly bid for the concierge/ activities desk contracts at the major hotels and vacation condominium complexes on Maui (there are hundreds).Within months we had our first contract for a 380 unit condo complex in Kihei. We used this as a spring board to go after bigger and more expensive properties, which we did. Within 3 years we had 5 properties with full time tour desks up and running successfully. We did daily breakfast "Island orientations" to arriving guests, and sold them tours and activities for Mauis greatest attractions. I was responsible for getting the desk contract, staffing each desk, and dealing with the property management and the HOAs and Board of Directors, often doing quarterly presentations of our operations and successes with them. During the years, one of our biggest competitors then called Activity World was bought out by Expedia.com the worlds largest travel agency. While intimidating, this didn't scare us, so we went all in "David Vs Goliath" style and directly started bidding for all of their desks. One by one I was able to obtain contracts worth millions of dollars per year right out from under them. We became the biggest thorn in the side of Expedia, and went head to head with them successfully for years to come. That is how I roll. I am not afraid to go after contracts that are grandfathered in, or too hard to obtain. No guts, no glory. Opportunities don't knock, you must go bang on the door!Hawaiian style activity centers is still running great to this day, and just acquired a desk at a very prestigious Kaanapali Beach front 5 star resort.

As VP of this company, I was directly involved in negotiating booking agreements to over 250 activities agencies, travel agencies, and hotels to increase customers doing daily snorkeling, whale watching, and dinner cruises aboard this high tech vessel. I was also instrumental in the boats design, PR, advertising, and sales presentations. I did monthly verbal presentations to large booking agencies, one in particular that was seen by Ron Martin the author of "Retail selling made easy", whom presented after me, and used his entire speech to tear apart my presentation bit by bit and show the guests all of the levels of sales, and social engineering that I had done to them, which was natural for me. He gave me a 5 star rating on public speaking and group selling. This is now one of the most popular trips, which is often booked out a week or more in advance.
